Everyone knows how I feel about Burger King (an update)

For those of you that have followed my Burger King drama over the past 3 months, you know my feelings about the store located on Olive Street in Pine Bluff. After much conversation and research, I discovered who the actual owners of that Burger King were and I gave them a call. I was told that the matter would be resolved and I asked for a return e-mail or phone call just to say, "Mr. Baker, all is well. The matter has been taken care of." I never received that e-mail or call. That leads me to the events of this week. I received an e-mail from a gentleman employed by Flis Enterprises (the owners of many Central Arkansas Burger King locations) that had come across my update blog post and after I proceeded with a verbal beatdown in response to his blog comments, it was discovered that he really wanted to help. I never wanted, as many had thought, for the BK Corp. to give me free food for life or anything of that nature. I merely wanted someone to address the lack of courtesy one receives while visiting this restaurant. After my initial blog I received many comments, e-mails, etc. from people that felt the same as I. I felt we were owed an answer. The gentleman that contacted me is a "higher-up" in Flis Enterprises and we spoke for about an hour today on the way customers are treated at that BK. He assured me it was being shown its proper attention and I took him to be sincere. I truly enjoyed our conversation and I think if BK, in general, had more like him, it would make a difference. The moral of my story is, as cynical and deliberate as I can be, I do realize that there are people out there that actually give a damn. To my new "Burger King" friend, it was a pleaseure and I hope you are able to change that which is wrong. To Reginicha, SUCK IT!!! You shall never have my respect. You made an impression on me that will follow you FOREVER.

I am thrilled you got an answer Matt. There are some good apples in the within the company, but unfortunately they seem to be overwhelmed by the bad ones. I genuinely hope your local BK steps up to the plate but I am ever the cynic having had a front row seat to the company for nearly 4 years.

Props for shedding light onto sub par workers though. I know minimum wage doesn't pay much, but it should at least come with a smile.

Lily,

I want to thank you for taking time out of your day to read my blog. As far as the other comment you left, I feel I have been under said "rug" for some time now. The gentleman that contacted me and offered all the assistance was asked to let the District Manager over the particular Burger King in question know that I would like to hear from her regarding my problems. I STILL HAVE NOT HEARD FROM HER. I honestly believe that the gentleman I spoke to has given her my information because I deemed him to be a sincere person who shared my views on the matter. Flis Enterprises has offered me nothing and I am sure they will not. One person contacted me and it was more of a personal call than anything. I do not think he has the power to speak for all of Flis Enterprises and maybe not even that particular store, but what he did was appreciated all the same.

The store in Pine Bluff can't spell DIGNITY and RESPECT let alone offer a customer some (your shit rolls down hill reference was priceless by the way). It doesn't sound like you went down with the sinking ship, but if you are, be careful and wear your flotation device.

As far as this post, I love to shed light on things that rub me wrong. I promise, no matter how cynical you are I have you beat, but there is a solution to these issues and it will not be corrected overnight. I am not in this to garner free gifts at the expense of Flis Enterprises, but until an apology from the proper sources comes, I will continue to expose this crap! I really hate that my experience that day caused me to make the decision to never go back. BK Mocha Joe's are greatly missed; however, I will not whore myself out at the expense of COURTESY!

If you ever want to offer me any information or just talk about the situation, please send me an e-mail to:

matt@esquireonline.net

Thanks again Lily for your input.

Hey Matt, I sent your information to the district manager. I guess I messed up and the e-mail was not received. I WILL make sure this is addressed. By the way, I have a Mocha Joe waiting on you if you want to talk. Thanks again.

Matt,
Did you go to White Hall High???

Lily said... @ June 17, 2009 at 7:25 PM

That was the largest reoccurring problem with Flis. The upper management was not tuned in. Issues would go from crew, to assistant manager, to GM, and up before becoming a massive unavoidable train wreck that then required much more severe intervention. It sure seems like it would of been easier to deal with the problems (ie, customer service) before they're chasing customers away.

You're welcome and you have my email address if you ever have questions.

Cooper- By chance did you work at the Bryant store?

Lily, your e-mail address does not show up in your comments. That's a way "Anonymous" people can stay anonymous, so please send it to me in another e-mail. There is another reply to this on another post so please see that on for the complete response.

Lily, I do work at the Bryant store. I am the District manager of the store. Are you a former employee?

Lily said... @ June 19, 2009 at 8:49 PM

Cooper, I am not a former employee. You are relatively new to Flis Enterprises, correct? I do recall that you brought more enthusiasm to the position and it appears you go above and beyond given your interest in this subject.

I wish you well in your time with Flis. They need a serious overhaul and I hope you are on the front lines fighting for that change.

Lily, if you are not a former employee, how do you know about these things? Yes, I have worked at Flis for a little over a year now. I appreciate your comments about enthusiam, but when I see a problem with Flis Enterprises, I feel it is my job to see if I can help with the problem. I just am surprised how you know so much about Flis without being a employee Maybe you have a "inside" connection.

Wow it is so amazing that people can't be honest about who they are. Yes Cooper you do go above the call of duty.... Thanks for everything you do for me and my store...

Lily I think it is just crazy that you can't be honest with who you are. Why even comment if you are too scared to stand beside your words?? If you don't have the guts to show who you are then why even be a part of this??

Esquire Nizzle, have you heard from the district manager? I have been busy with other things and have not had the chance to talk to you. Lily, I haven't heard from you in a while, and though I am only one person, I will do everything in my power to help the company I work for better. Some people go around running there mouths(employees)without knowing what is going on. I look at my job as if I am no better than anyone else. I get in the kitchen and cook and clean with Mr. or Mrs. $7.25(as of the 21st)and work with them. I let my employees know I will do whatever it takes so WE can be successful. Matt, please let me know if you have heard from the DM of that area. I know for a fact they have your information. Sorry I didn't make you b-day party. Hope you had fun.
